IBERFOIL INTEGRA: Reducing CO₂ Means Integrating the Future
On the occasion of World CO₂ Emissions Reduction Day, IBERFOIL is highlighting its IBERFOIL INTEGRA project, an industrial initiative that places the Circular Economy and sustainability at the heart of aluminium production in Spain.
Through its IBERFOIL INTEGRA project, IBERFOIL promotes the use of recycled aluminium as a key solution for reducing carbon footprint. This material, produced from aluminium remelting, can cut CO₂ emissions by up to 45% compared to primary aluminium and requires up to 90% less energy during production, also compared to primary aluminium, offering a less polluting, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly alternative.
Aluminium is remelted from scrap, transformed into coil, and rolled into different thicknesses, re-entering the production cycle without losing its properties. This process reflects the concept of the Circular Economy, ensuring a sustainable supply for essential sectors such as food and pharmaceuticals, among others.
With its IBERFOIL INTEGRA project, IBERFOIL implements cleaner and more efficient solutions, driving practices and technologies that reduce carbon footprint, promote energy efficiency, and consolidate sustainable industrial processes.
Through this project, IBERFOIL is committed to a greener future where emissions reduction, sustainability, and innovation go hand in hand.
